Hi! Welcome to the Adventure Nickel.
This is the website dedicated to my little family of globetrotting wanderers.
We aren't wandering anymore.
Instead, we bought a dilapidated old manufactured home and a bunch of junk on six acres in Washington and we are trying to make a home out of it.
That means I'm pretty busy. I'm ripping out floors and walls and ceilings and everything else I can reach while trying to keep it all from falling in on us.
Check out the blog for the latest progress and you can still nose around here for some of the old travel adventures.
I'll get this place current some day.
Oh yeah, and the book. I've written a book about the first two years traveling. I am on one of the seemdingly endless rewrites with some help from my friends at Scribophile.com. I am looking for a summer release date. It's good to be busy. For the most current news and information, please check out the blog
The book now has a cover. This is really happening folks. Be prepared.
We are living our adventures and hope we can encourage you to live yours. If we can do this, there is no reason at all why you can't do exactly what you want as well. The difficult part may just be finding out what that is.
For the day to day updates we do have a blog. When I understand Wordpress better I might move it all over here, but for now it works pretty well where it is. You can check it out here to find out where we are and what we are up to. I try to update frequently, but 12 hours shifts in the ER take their toll. As much as we get accused of having a 'vacation life' by our families, we still work and pay bills and do everything we did when we lived in the same place all the time. Now we just do it in different places.
Latest update July 2016
This site is continually being updated. I started the site two years after starting the adventures so there is a lot that I still want to do. Please bear with me as I get things together.
I keep the Blog updated pretty routinely.
If you have a website that details your adventures and want to share links, please let me know.
Right now I will share links to some sites that have been somewhat inspirational for us.
I did a radio interview with this guy, it should show up in podcasts for Dec 2014
A great site for RV family travel:
And another cruise nursing blog.
